Creative and Stylist, Contributing Senior Style Editor at the Zoe Report
When people ask you what you do for a living, what do you say?
I’m a Creative -- my career entails so much, mostly styling -- but I pursue it in some many different forms and mediums. Right now, I am a Fashion Editor creating imagery that tells stories and conveys a point of view from various scopes for publications + fashion clients.
What do you look for most when it comes to intimates?
Support and comfort. I have curves! I have learned to love them and ensure I have great pieces that enhance them naturally. I do that with garments that support without crazy amounts of coverage.
What makes you feel amazing in your own skin?
Being aligned spiritually, mentally, and physically makes me feel amazing in my own skin. When something is out of whack, I feel it! Finding the balance and pouring into myself in all those arenas is super important to me.
What makes you feel strong and confident when it comes to what you wear?
My personality. What I wear is always a direct reflection of my personality and how I feel. I feel strong and confident when those elements align with each other. I don't try too hard, but I love fusing pieces together that wouldn't conventionally work together, but just do for me.
Favorite motivational saying / quote / advice?
“The place in which I’ll fit will not exist until I make it.” - James Baldwin
Favorite style icon?
Right now, it’s my late grandmother Melody El-Amin. She passed away when I was a baby, but re-discovering her garments at my mother's house has been such a gift! I have repurposed them in my closet, and it brings me such a divine connection with her. Her ’70s style was iconic!
