Co-Owner of SKY TING YOGA
How would you describe your athletic / movement / fitness practice(s)?
I’m a yogi and dancer.
When people ask you what you do for a living, what do you say?
Co-owner of SKY TING YOGA
What are the top three most important investments you’ve made in yourself?
Starting my own company, having a daily practice of yoga/meditation/pranayama, and treating myself to massages and acupuncture!
What prompted you to pursue a path (career or passion) tied to athleticism / fitness / movement?
I’ve loved movement since forever. I’ve always had a fascination and passion for studying the body. It made sense for me to teach yoga after my extensive dance training.
From where do you draw your sense of inner strength?
From doing my daily practice. I’m a very dedicated and focused person.
What makes you feel strong/confident?
I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love. I feel the most strong and confident when I’m teaching yoga, or building the SKY TING community!
What makes you feel amazing in your own skin?
Being healthy from the inside out. And taking baths with lots of oil!
What do you love to do when no one is around?
Dance in my apartment, take a bath, cook myself a healthy meal.
When you’re “performing” (in whatever form that means to you) how do you feel?
I feel totally in the zone! Plugged into a higher power where I’m incredibly focused and in the flow. It’s a liberating feeling to be free of distraction and be totally present.
Do you think of yourself as a role model? Does that factor into the way you live your life?
Yes! I have to really measure up to what I teach people. I cant preach the importance of being kind and clear if I’m not practicing that myself.
What’s your personal definition (and/or example) of #treatyourself?
Going to acupuncture! Taking a night off to do a face mask and chill. Eating whatever you want. Allowing yourself to have fun!
Favorite daily ritual?
My bath-time ritual is super fresh.
Favorite motivational saying / quote / advice?
My teacher always tells me that the goal of yoga is not to be nice, it’s actually to be powerful. But you’re always more powerful when you’re kind.
