LOCATION: Based in NYC, must be able to come to the office up to 5 days a week
REPORTS TO: Director of Design and Technical Design
Technical Design
- Managing fit samples -tracking and shipping to models, FedEx
- Checking sample sewing - be able to recognize if something is incorrect or executed poorly
- Fit setup - have correct samples ready for fit and also any previous fit / reference samples available
- Management of samples - be able to track and manage storage of size sets, fit samples, PPs, and TOPs.
- Manage Fit document on a weekly basis - what samples to fit on which models
- Specing fit samples - checking measurements against the graded specs
- Support the review of prototypes and size sets to meet Product Development Timeline milestones.
- Create and update tech packs with technical flats, BOMs, grading
- Provide side pages of size set garments for approval etc
- Work with customer support to provide specs for website. Help address any customer feedback on fit
Design
- Maintain the design WIP line sheet document with up-to-date color cads
- Help with inspiration documents- create mood boards from photos
- Color Approval- assist with lab dip comments for fabric and trim and maintain color approval library
- Create seasonal fabric, trim, and sketch boards.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Graduate with degree in Fashion Technical design or fashion design
- 2 plus years working in design and technical design, intimates experience required
- Internship experience helpful
- Organized self-starter with a passion to learn
- Excited about working at a fast growing online business
- Ability to work in both Ai and Ps, Excel, Google docs
- Must have portfolio you can share with flat technical sketches, color cads, etc
- Ability to draw by hand helpful
- Must be able to spec garments properly in both centimeters and inches
- Understanding of pattern making or experience with pattern making helpful
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for building working relationships within teams
- Strong time management and organizational skills to establish priorities and meet specific timelines.
- Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve.
