Fashion Stylist
Please tell us where you’re from originally, and where you live in NYC
I’m from a rural village in Ontario, Canada called Atwood. But I’m a global citizen. When in NYC, East Village feels like my home.
What prompted you to pursue a path tied to style and fashion? How did you get to where you are today?
I started modelling when I was 15, I couldn’t imagine not being in this industry, so I started building a styling portfolio with my photographer friends in my late twenties. And I’ve been doing this as my career ever since then.
What makes you feel strong and confident when it comes to what you wear?
It changes all of the time, sometimes it’s a very high heel when I’m towering over everyone. Other times I prefer to not ‘stand’ out so much, flat shoe, statement lip.
How would you describe your personal style?
Androgynous, relaxed, comfortable, quirky. A turtleneck in all seasons.
What is the significance of a good base layer when it comes to fashion - in your opinion?
It’s going to look good under your clothing, and it’s also going to feel good, which is the most important thing.
Worst underwear-related story you can share?
Walked over a street grate in a skirt, not wearing my best underwear, gust of wind, everyone saw my underwear. Lesson: only have great underwear.
